DTF Application Tips for T-Shirts

Pre-press: Always pre-press your blank t-shirt for 3-5 seconds before applying the transfer. This removes moisture and wrinkles that can cause adhesion problems.

Temperature: Press DTF transfers at 305-320°F (152-160°C). Use the lower end for polyester to avoid scorching. Use the higher end for 100% cotton.

Pressure: Medium-to-firm pressure. Insufficient pressure is the most common cause of poor adhesion and lifting edges.

Peel: Cold peel — wait 5-10 seconds after pressing before removing the film. Peeling too early causes incomplete adhesion.

What fabric blend is best for DTF t-shirts?

100% combed ringspun cotton produces the softest hand feel and strongest DTF transfer adhesion. Cotton-polyester blends (60/40 or 50/50) are also excellent and offer slightly better wrinkle resistance. 100% polyester works with DTF but requires lower pressing temperatures (305°F) to prevent scorching.
