DTF Gang Sheets

Learn More About DTF Gang Sheets

What Is a DTF Gang Sheet?

A DTF gang sheet is a single printed sheet that contains multiple designs arranged side by side. Instead of ordering each design as an individual transfer, you combine several designs onto one large sheet — cutting your cost per design and reducing the number of individual orders you need to place.

DTF stands for Direct to Film. The process involves printing your artwork onto a thin film, applying a heat-activated adhesive powder, and then curing the powder so the design is ready to transfer to a garment with a heat press. Gang sheets use the same DTF printing process and quality standards as individual transfers — the difference is purely in the arrangement. By filling a 22-inch wide sheet with multiple designs, you maximize the usable print area and lower your cost per square inch.

Gang sheets are the standard ordering format for most apparel decorators, custom merchandise businesses, and production printers who need to print several different designs at once. They are equally useful for a small creator printing 5 different t-shirt graphics as for a larger operation printing a full seasonal collection.

Choose Your Gang Sheet Size

All ZizoDTF gang sheets are 22 inches wide. You select the length depending on how many designs you need to fit. Longer sheets hold more designs and offer a lower cost per printed square inch.

Gang Sheet Size Guide

22x20 inch — Fits approximately 3-5 medium designs. Ideal for small test batches or proofing a new design before scaling.

22x30 inch — Fits approximately 6-10 medium designs. A popular starter size for small businesses launching their first product line.

22x40 inch — Fits approximately 8-15 mixed designs. A versatile mid-range option that balances variety and cost efficiency.

22x60 inch — Fits approximately 15-25 designs. Production-ready for event merchandise or seasonal collection launches.

22x100 inch — Maximum value bulk size. Lowest cost per design. Ideal for wholesale production and recurring orders.

How to Order a DTF Gang Sheet

We offer two ordering paths for gang sheets. Choose the one that fits your workflow and design software capabilities.

Option 1: Upload Your Design

If you have already arranged your designs into a finished gang sheet file, use our upload path. Prepare your file to the correct dimensions (22 inches wide by your chosen length), arrange your designs with 0.25-inch spacing between them, and export as a PNG, JPEG, or TIFF at 300 DPI minimum. Upload your file directly to the product page, select your sheet length, and proceed to checkout. This is the fastest path for experienced designers and production printers who already have a file preparation workflow.

Option 2: Build Online

If you do not have design software or prefer a guided layout process, use our online gang sheet builder. Upload your individual design files into the builder, arrange them on the sheet using the drag-and-drop interface, resize as needed, and preview the layout before submitting your order. No Illustrator, Photoshop, or Canva required. The builder handles the technical sheet formatting for you and produces a print-ready file when you complete your layout.

File Requirements

Accepted formats: PNG, JPEG, TIFF. PNG with a transparent background is strongly recommended for designs that need clean cut edges without a background color on the fabric.

Resolution: 300 DPI minimum at final print size. Files submitted at lower resolution will result in soft edges and pixelated detail at print.

Color mode: RGB color mode is preferred for DTF printing. CMYK files are accepted but colors may shift slightly during conversion.

Design spacing: When uploading a pre-arranged gang sheet, leave at least 0.25 inches of space between individual designs for clean cutting.

DTF Gang Sheet Pricing

Gang sheet pricing at ZizoDTF is based on sheet dimensions. Longer sheets provide a lower cost per printed square inch, making larger sheets the better value for businesses with multiple designs to print.

There are no minimums, no setup fees, and no surcharges for additional colors. DTF printing reproduces full-color artwork in a single pass — 1, 5, or 15 colors in your design all print at the same price. Free shipping applies to all orders over $100.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a DTF gang sheet and why should I use one?

A DTF gang sheet is a printed sheet containing multiple designs arranged together on a single 22-inch wide roll. Rather than ordering each design individually, you combine them onto one sheet and pay for the total sheet area instead of per-design. This lowers your cost per transfer significantly, especially if you have three or more designs to print at once.

How many designs can I fit on a gang sheet?

It depends on the size of your individual designs and the length of the sheet you order. A 22x20 sheet fits 3-5 medium designs (around 8x8 inches each), a 22x40 sheet fits 8-15 designs of varied sizes, and a 22x100 sheet can hold 25 or more designs. The online gang sheet builder will show you your design layout in real time as you arrange your files.

What is the difference between uploading a gang sheet and using the builder?

When you upload a gang sheet, you are providing a finished, print-ready file that you have already arranged in your design software. The gang sheet builder is an online tool that does the layout work for you — you upload individual design files and arrange them using a drag-and-drop interface, without needing design software. Both paths produce the same print quality.

What file format should I use for my gang sheet?

PNG with a transparent background is the recommended format. PNG preserves your design with clean, crisp edges and supports transparency, which means the white ink layer is applied only where your design has color. JPEG and TIFF are also accepted. Set your file to 300 DPI at the intended print size.

Is there a minimum order for gang sheets?

No. There is no minimum order on any ZizoDTF product, including gang sheets. You can order a single 22x20 gang sheet with no setup fee and no obligation to order in bulk.

Do I need to space my designs apart on the gang sheet?

Yes. When uploading a pre-arranged file, leave at least 0.25 inches of spacing between individual designs. This spacing is necessary for accurate cutting after printing. When using the online builder, the tool handles spacing automatically.

What heat press settings should I use for DTF gang sheet transfers?

Apply DTF transfers at 305-320°F (152-160°C) for 10-15 seconds with medium-to-firm pressure. After pressing, allow the transfer to cool for 5-10 seconds before peeling the film (cold peel). For polyester fabrics, use the lower end of the temperature range (305°F).

How long do DTF gang sheet transfers last through washing?

With proper care — washing inside out in cold water on a gentle cycle, avoiding bleach and fabric softeners, and tumble drying on low heat or air drying — ZizoDTF transfers maintain quality through 40+ wash cycles.

Can I mix different design sizes on one gang sheet?

Yes. You can mix designs of different sizes on the same sheet. You might have a 10x10-inch full front graphic alongside three 4x4-inch left chest logos and a few 2x2-inch label transfers, all on a single 22x40 sheet.

How long does it take to receive a gang sheet order?

Standard gang sheet orders are processed in 1-2 business days at our Schaumburg, IL facility. Orders placed before the daily cutoff are eligible for same-day shipping. Free shipping is included on orders over $100.
